How To Get Rid Of Kidney Stones With Food

Many cases of kidney stones and bladder stones (urolithiasis) could have been avoided by following a few simple rules, according to the National Kidney Foundation, an American non-governmental organization.

Maintaining the body’s water balance

Many people must increase the daily amount of fluid consumed to 2.5 liters, with at least 50% of all liquid products being clean drinking water. On the other hand, mineral water and soda increase the risk of kidney and bladder stones.

Reducing salt intake

An excess of salt in the body leads to water retention in the body and dehydration development.

The total amount of salt consumed during the day should not exceed 2.3 grams. It must be remembered that most ready-made food products (sausage, chips, canned food, and even bread) contain an increased amount of salt.

Avoiding overuse of caffeinated drinks

Caffeine speeds up the body’s metabolism and can also cause dehydration, which is dangerous in kidney stones. The daily dose of caffeine should not exceed 400 mg (approximately the same amount of this substance is found in four espresso coffee cups).

Avoiding excessive consumption of acidic foods

These foods include lamb, beef, pork, hard cheese, chicken eggs, many types of fish. Such foods cause acidification of the body, which contributes to the formation of kidney stones.

Getting enough calcium from food

Dietary calcium reduces the risk of developing certain types of kidney stones.
