Some parents don’t appreciate the idea of their children wearing school uniforms and aprons. However, there are schools where they are mandatory, and, this year, in the pandemic phase, they are strongly recommended. However, they must be carefully washed and sanitized. How you do it? - Check the care labels. Always read garment care labels and product labels before washing or applying a stain remover.
- Machine wash. If you wash your uniforms regularly in the washing machine, consider using cold water and a gentle wash cycle for blazers, skirts, pants, and sweaters. This will help preserve them and prevent them from fading or wearing out after repeated washing.
- Use a color care cleaner. To best preserve, the colors, rely on a suitable color care detergent.
- Drum drying. If you choose to tumble dry your children’s school uniforms, use a low temperature and the shortest cycle possible to avoid shrinkage. It is best to remove school uniforms from the dryer while still slightly damp to minimize creasing.
As for the stains, however, follow the advice.
- Grass. Soak the garment in cold water and apply a suitable commercial stain remover or laundry liquid. For stubborn stains, try rubbing alcohol or hairspray.
- Food. Gently blot the stain with a stain remover, liquid laundry detergent, or even dish soap.
- Ink. Use a hair spray or alcohol-based solvents, such as a hand sanitizer or denatured alcohol.
- Painting. For water-based paints, rinse the stain with warm water and use a commercial stain remover, laundry liquid, or denatured alcohol.

- Blood. Wash immediately in cold water, then with soap. In case of stubborn stains, soak the stain with a paste of cold water and salt for 15 minutes.
- Mud. Let the mud dry, scrape it off as much as possible, and then blot the stain with a stain remover.
